What creatures dwell within the lightless depths of the Pacific Ocean's deepest regions? Visit the Gulf of Georgia Cannery lobby this October and step into the furthest reaches of the deep sea with our Into the Deep Undersea Photo Experience. Between October 1st and November 1st, celebrate the Halloween season by taking your picture among the marine life of the deep, made from recycled plastics and ocean waste.

Come as you are or become a denizen of the deep in your ocean/marine-inspired costume! Share your selfie(s) on our social media and tag us to receive 15% off of Cannery admission throughout the month of October (each person must make a post to receive the discount, only applicable to adult and seniors admissions).
- Coupons for 15% off entry to the Cannery museum are valid between October 1st, 2026 – November 1st, 2026 (5pm) only.
- We encourage friends and families to take selfies together. However, each social media post tagging the Cannery is only redeemable for one (1) discounted admission. Want to visit together? Each visitor must show a valid social media post in order to receive an admission discount.

Coming in costume? In the week leading up to Halloween, shared social media photos tagged #CanneryCostumeContest will be entered in our Into the Deep Costume Contest. On October 31st, the selfie with the most likes (across Facebook and Instagram combined) will receive an exclusive prize!

Post a selfie in costume at our Into the Deep on to Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #CanneryCostumeContest and tag @gogcannery (Instagram) or Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site (Facebook).
To be entered into the contest, photos must be taken and uploaded by 5pm on Thursday, October 22, 2026. Photo submissions will be posted to the Cannery’s Instagram and Facebook on October 23, 2026, and voting will be live between October 24th to November 1st. Winner will be contacted on Monday, November 2, 2026.
