Enjoy classic films, educational documentaries, and even family favourites like you’ve never seen them before, monthly at the Cannery. Limited seats available.
About the Boiler House Theatre: This historic space was built to house the Cannery’s steam boilers, which powered the machinery used to can salmon between 1894 and 1930. Once filled with powerful boilers, this original structure has been transformed into an intimate theatre space that shows educational films daily. The Boiler House Theatre is a wonderful place to experience your favourite films while immersed in Cannery history.

About the Film:
An old Cuban fisherman goes out to get fish, something he has not done well at for the last three months. He catches a huge one which is devoured by sharks before he can land it.

Online tickets are available in advance via the Steveston Community Centre’s registration portal. Register Here
Day-of tickets for each screening are available for purchase at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site.
Is the Theatre accessible?
Yes, the Boiler House theatre is fully wheelchair accessible.

Who can attend?
While this programming is targeted towards Steveston’s seniors community, all ages are welcome to join.
Does my ticket include entry to the Museum?
Entry to the Cannery museum is not included in the movie ticket cost, and may be purchased separately before or after the film screening. Youth (<18) always receive free admission to the museum.
Cost: $5 per ticket
- Audience: Program is developed for seniors (55+), but open to all visitors.
