Winter scenes combine beautifully decorated trees with the historic background of our 132-year-old Cannery building to allow you to create a series of unforgettable holiday moments. Can Lid Ornament Kits: Festive Family Photo Vignettes are not only perfect for group photos, but serve as the perfect backdrop for individual photos of your kids! Take home everything you need to create a can-lid photo ornament for your Christmas tree or holiday decor—available by donation at the Front Desk!
Location: Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site
Admission cost: Included with Cannery admission.

- Dates: Saturday, November 21 to Thursday, December 31, 2026.
- Open daily during Cannery hours: 10am – 5pm.
- Cannery staff and volunteer photo takers onsite between 11 am – 4 pm.
- Suitable for families and children
- Photo note: Families partaking in Festive Family Photo Vignettes will need to provide their own camera (iphone, smartphone) to capture their memories. The Cannery will not be providing any professional photography services onsite at this time.
What to expect: Due to our building’s unique placement over the water and historic architecture, it is colder inside the Cannery than it is outdoors; please dress appropriately to stay comfortable and enjoy your visit.
