Feel-good Folk Music with Willy Blizzard

Submitted by Heritage Interpreter Antonia L.

Last Friday due to a little rain shower, our second-to-last summer concert was held indoors for Music at the Cannery. Although it can be chilly with the river beneath our building, we were feeling all warm and fuzzy thanks to Willy Blizzard. Normally a trio, the band was unfortunately down a member, but husband and wife duo John Hough and Andrea Law still put on a great show. Andrea on the stand up bass provides a hearty rhythm for John’s vocals and guitar. The duo had so much richness in their tone that listeners can feel all the heart put into their performance. Music-goers carried that feeling all the way home when the concert ended.

We still have one show left in our summer music series, don’t miss Illiteratty this Friday, August 30 at 6:30pm! The concert will be held rain or shine, outdoors weather permitting or indoors. Tickets are $7 each at the door ($5 for kids 7-17); ticket sales start at 5:30pm.  For more information, call the Cannery at 604.664.9009.
