Culture Days are coming to Richmond and the Cannery is hosting events that will also coincide with BC Rivers Day. On Sunday, September 26, stop by the Cannery for the White Glove Treatment and some Good, Clean Fish-Friendly Fun.
From 10 am to 4 pm, the White Glove Treatment will allow participants to ask questions as well as a chance to put on some white gloves and learn how to handle artifacts like a pro. There will also be a display of rarely seen “treasures” from our collection, and a photographic “behind the scenes” look into our collections storage areas. Stop by and say “hi” to Heidi, our Collections Manager!
In honour of BC Rivers Day, children (parents welcome too) are invited to partake in some Good, Clean, Fish-Friendly Fun. Learn how natural detergents work by making a paper fish swim, test out some fish-friendly cleaning solutions, and make their own “Ocean in a Bottle.” Children’s activities will be available from 1 pm to 4 pm.
